- We sometimes receive calls thinking the item was lost outdoors a normal logical assumtion at times. But after we search an area we get a call saying the item was found near a sink where they had washed their hands or fallen off in the car etc. I am glad the item is safe but ideally I hope you save some money and find it beforehand although I would miss the chance to make your acquaintance.

How deep can the detector go : The hightech E trac detector we use has found a small silver ear ring approximatly 10 cm deep. Larger items such as a 15 mm wide platinum bracelet at least 52cm into the beach. The answer is the tiniest items the shallower. Size limit not found yet.
What can the detector find: Really anything that has any metal in it . All gold and silver platinium, copper, tin, bronze, all Iron metals keys. Any electronic items eg mobile phones. The detector can sample a twin jewellery item and focus on that item only. However as we are experienced operators we watch for other signal varing ground influences to ensure we dont miss your precious items.
Backyard treasure: During the out break of World War I and II many people did not trust the banks and converted their wealth into gold sovereigns and hid their gold sovereigns in jars and tins which are still buried in yards waiting to be discovered to this very day. Gold sovereigns are worth 2 or more times their weight in gold depending on the minted date. If you ever find gold sovereigns it is extremly important to have them professionally cleaned if at all as improperly cleaned coins can greatly devalue them.
