Brad a metal detectoring mate from melaldetectorhire, com.au Called up to ask for a hand to find a guys lost wedding ring on a soccor field as it is a large search areas so two guys are much better than one. As it turned out as I was arriving the ring was found which is great news for another satisfied custimer. I was looking forward to metal detecting for the ring just as the challenge ended and was found lol. So I drove to North Cronulla Beach to start another search where some major sand bank stabalization was taking place up the beach. Here was a bonanza of coins. The gold $1 $2 coins up one end of the beach, a good handfull of them was found in quick order. A semi rare event. Some curious young surfers watching my frequent digging came over to see what was going on. I showed them my finds and basically how the Metal detector hire machine worked. They asked if I found any valuable rings and right on cue enough the very next metal target I dug was what sounds/ looks like a white gold ring eyes where bulging out every where. As seen in he Photo . The next question the lads had for me was how much the metal detector cost and where to buy it. Well sadly to E Trac Minelab I use is like $1750 to purchase but worth every performance cent. I ran in to another gentlmen detectorist Ron if I remember right, he has being beach combling for 23 years. And owns about 10 metal detectors from a number of years he was to fond of them all to much to part with any. The detector he was using was finding too many hot rocks ( mneralised rocks that look like metal to $600 detectors.) so he spent more time finding false targets. He still had a moderate hand full of mixed coins to his credit. I found many older decimal coins speckling the beach where the waves wash up, as well as some one and two cent peices shaken loose out of the sand bank restoration works. (Most copper coin s dissolve in the sea in a few years. ) All in all a good days hunting. If you are the owner of this ring please contact me so I can return it as long as you are the true owner .

Silver looks like mens Wrist Amulet bracelet. Found while on metal detecting hire searching for a childs gold crucifix at Brighton Beach lost 2 years before, no result on that one and no charge. Looks like a greek or turkish trumpeter image in traditional costume with the sun above radiating down. Any one know the story depicted on the amulet I would be happy to be educated. The amulet measure aproximatly 3 cms long and was found in the low tide mark. Meet up with Brad another metal detecting professional of whom I would also reccommend to find your lost items. We spent a couple of hours fossicking the beach enjoying another sunny Autumn day.

A Distintive ladies watch and band with two glass stones missing from the band. The watch is recently lost running and keeping time. While cleaning the beach of foil bottle tops 'a needle in the haystack' search for a gents platinum wedding ring. Out of the sand popped this watch with flower face and decorated band. Like to see this find returned home I feel sentimental value would be high on this one.

A call to any hobbist detectors in the Palm Beach Sydney region, Sadly two very nice people young newly weds (six weeks) saw his White Gold wedding , with inscription inside band "Angus + wifes name" band slipped of his finger, bounced off his surf board into the surf about knee deep with the tide mid -way going out. He was able to give very precise directions as to the search area to his credit given the first initial frantic moments of trying to feel the ring it with his feet.
The location is Palm Beach, southern end, find the big yellow brick change room, walk from the north end of the building straight out to sea. Tide was half way out I suspect the ring rolled into the beach gutter in deeper water.

Another recent wander over Bondi Beach. It is to the credit of the ETrac metal detector we use finding such a small target 15 cm depth with accuracy and a loud signal.

I heard the best way to clean up decimal coins is to put them into pokie machines and push the collect button. Ummm might save them for parking meters,,,,

This very unusual silver ring was found in the river silt. I would love to know if that design has any special meaning. If anyone can shed some light on this ring design love to hear from you. I enjoy the older more interesting historical? finds. Will have to try electrolysis cleaning method. The band is broken and mangled somewhat hope that hand wasnt near a propeller.
